PICKUP

Il livello generale del segnale in uscita

dello strumento, nonché la qualità del

segnale, possono essere influenzati

dall’altezza del pickup. L’altezza del

pickup va regolata finché il volume dei

pickup del manico e del ponte sono

quasi uguali con entrambi i volumi completamente aperti. Il volume potrebbe

ridursi notevolmente se il pickup è troppo distante dalle corde. Siccome i pickup

sono magnetici, possono verificarsi ronzii e distorsione del suono se il pickup è

troppo vicino alle corde. Usare un piccolo cacciavite per effettuare le regolazioni

e sollevare o abbassare il pickup.

Sui bassi con componenti elettronici attivi

(alcuni bassi non necessitano di pile) la pila

va riposta all’interno di un compartimento

apposito o nella cavità per l’alloggiamento dei

controlli. Per evitare danni provocati dalla

perdita di liquido fuoriuscito dalle pile,

rimuovere le vecchie pile non appena possibile

e non conservare il basso per lunghi periodi di

tempo con le pile installate. Non mischiare le

pile - vecchie con nuove, alcaline con non alcaline, ecc. - in bassi che necessitano

di due pile.

L'inserimento di un jack nella presa jack del basso attiva l'alimentazione.

Scollegare il cavo del basso quando questo non è in uso per ridurre il consumo

della batteria.

POSIZIONE DEL PONTE ACUSTICO

all'armonico sullo stesso tasto, spostare il

ponte verso la paletta. Se invece

l'intonazione della nota suonata è

crescente, allontanare il ponte dalla

paletta. Per effettuare le regolazioni è necessario allentare le corde, ma ciò potrebbe

causare uno spostamento eccessivo del ponte. Per agevolare questo tipo di

operazione, scegliere una lunghezza di scala pari a 770 mm (30,3"), misurata tra il

capotasto (tasto 0) e la selletta della prima corda. Una volta effettuata la regolazione,

sostituire una corda alla volta per ridurre al minimo il movimento delle sellette.

COMANDI DEL BASSO

Modelli con due pickup: bilanciamento dei pickup

Il controllo del bilanciamento dei pickup permette di

miscelare il bilanciamento tra il pickup al ponte e il

pickup al manico usando un solo potenziometro. La

posizione centrale del potenziometro ha una

scanalatura che aiuterà ad impostare entrambi i pickup

per ottenere un uguale segnale di uscita. Girando la manopola in senso orario si

aumenta il segnale del pickup al manico, diminuendo l’output del pickup al ponte.

Girando la manopola in senso antiorario si diminuisce il segnale del pickup al

manico e si accresce quello al ponte.
