You can set the camera to turn off automatically when no operation is
performed for a fixed time.

Use the four-way controller (

) to select [Auto Power
Off] in the [
W
Setting] menu.

Press the four-way controller (

A pull-down menu appears.

) to select the time
until the camera turns off automatically.
Choose from [5min.], [3min.] or [Off].

Press the

The setting is saved.
• Power Saving does not function in the following situations:
- While taking pictures in
j
(Continuous Shooting),
A
(Burst
Shooting(L)) or
C
(Burst Shooting(H)) mode
- When the AC adapter is connected
- In playback mode
- While recording a movie
- While the camera is connected to a computer
- When a menu is being displayed
• When no operation is performed after the camera is turned on, the
Power Saving function is activated only after 15 seconds elapse even
if [5sec.] is set.
Setting the Auto Power Off Function
Auto Power Off does not function in the following situations:
- While taking pictures in
j
(Continuous Shooting),
A
(Burst
Shooting(L)) or
C
(Burst Shooting(H)) mode
- While recording a movie
- During a slideshow or playback of movies
- While the camera is connected to a computer
- While images are being transferred using an Eye-Fi card
