The
Security
tab contains the
Set Password
and
IP Filter (IPv4)
pages.
Set Password
Purpose:
To set or change the password that is required to access the setup parameters
of the printer from the
Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool
.
This page can also be displayed by clicking
Set Password
in the left frame.
Values:
NOTE:
If you forgot your password, initialize NVM (non-volatile memory) to restore
the password to the default (NULL). See "Reset Print Server" on page 150.
NOTE:
When you change the password to lock the operator panel, set the
password from Panel Lock Set in the Printer Settings.
Initialize NIC
NVRAM
Memory and
restart printer.
Click the
Start
button to initialize NVM. Network settings will
revert to the factory default settings and reboot the network
capability.
Restart Printer
Click the
Start
button to reboot the printer.
Administrator
Password
Sets the password using up to 10 alphanumeric characters. The
password will appear as asterisks (*) in the field when it is entered.
Re-enter
Administrator
Password
Enter the password again to confirm.
Access denial
by the
authentication
failure of the
Administrator
Sets the maximum number that the administrator fails to log in. If
you set 0, this feature is disabled.
The failed attempts counter is reset to 0 by a successful
authentication.
Every administrator authentication is rejected if the counter
exceeds the maximum number of failed login attempts.
