2-20 FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel Tank
•
Remove the fuel tank [A].
•
Drain the fuel tank.
○
Place a suitable container under the fuel tank.
○
Turn the fuel tap to the PRI position to drain the fuel into
the container.
Fuel Tank Installation
•
Read the WARNING in the Fuel Tank Removal section.
•
Check the rubber dampers [A].
If the dampers are damaged or deteriorated, replace
them.
•
Route the hoses correctly (see General Information chap-
ter).
•
Be sure the hoses are clamped to the fuel tap to prevent
leakage.
Fuel Tap Removal
WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and can be ex-
plosive under certain conditions. Turn the ignition
switch OFF. Do not smoke. Make sure the area is
well-ventilated and free from any source of flame
or sparks; this includes any appliance with a pilot
light.
○
Remove the fuel hose and drain the fuel into a suitable
container.
•
Remove the bolts [A] and take out the fuel tap [B].
Fuel Tap Installation
•
Fuel tap installation is the reverse of removal. Note the
following.
Torque - Fuel Tap Mounting Bolts: 2.5 N·m (0.25 kgf·m, 22
in·lb)
•
Be sure to clamp the fuel hose to the tap to prevent leaks.
