Reboot
42.1 Overview
Use this to restart the device (for example, if the device begins behaving erratically). See also
for information on different ways to start and stop the ZyWALL.
42.1.1 What You Need To Know
If you applied changes in the Web configurator, these were saved automatically and do not change
when you reboot. If you made changes in the CLI, however, you have to use the
write
command to
save the configuration before you reboot. Otherwise, the changes are lost when you reboot.
Reboot is different to reset; (see
) reset returns the device to its default
configuration.
42.2 The Reboot Screen
The Reboot screen allows remote users to restart the device. To access this screen, click
Maintenance > Reboot.

Click the Reboot button to restart the ZyWALL. Wait a few minutes until the login screen appears.
If the login screen does not appear, type the IP address of the device in your Web browser.
You can also use the CLI command
reboot
to restart the ZyWALL.
