2.4.9.1 VoIP Installation Scenario A
In this installation scenario, you use a VoIP line card, an SEC1024 extension card and an MDF
to provide voice service over the Internet to your subscribers.

Use the following procedure for this installation scenario.

Connect the Telco-50 connector end of the cable you want to use for voice service to the
Telco-50 connector labeled
USER
on the splitter chassis rear panel.

Connect the wiring on the other side of the Telco-50 cable to the upper ports of the MDF
using a punch-down tool.

Connect the telephone wiring from the end-user’s POTS telephone equipment to the
lower ports of the MDF.
