create fdb
Description
This command is used to make an entry into the switch’s unicast MAC address forwarding
database.
Format
create fdb <vlan_name 32> <macaddr> [port <port> | drop]
Parameters
<vlan_name 32>
- Specifies a VLAN name associated with a MAC address. The maximum
length is 32 characters.
<macaddr>
- Specifies the MAC address to be added to the static forwarding table.
port
- The switch will always forward traffic to the specified device through this port.
<port>
- Specifies the port number corresponding to the MAC destination address.
drop
- Specifies to have the switch drop traffic.
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator-level users can issue this command.
Example
To create an unicast MAC forwarding:
DGS-3710-12C:admin#create fdb default 00-00-00-00-01-02 port 5
Command: create fdb default 00-00-00-00-01-02 port 5
Success.
